Resilient Winona County is a collaborative coalition of more than 40 organizations and 200 individuals working to build a resilient, trauma-informed community. The group’s work is focused on healing and addressing the causes of individual and community trauma through education, advocacy, and elevating voices.
We:
EDUCATE individuals, organizations and communities on trauma-informed practice, brain science, and resiliency
ADVOCATE for people and policies in ways that facilitate personal healing and address the root causes and systems that perpetuate trauma
ELEVATE the voices, stories and experiences of those who have suffered trauma to increase understanding and compassion and influence decision-making

Sign up for email updates: We send out about 6 annual updates with opportunities to get involved and learn more. Sign up here.
Educate yourself: Read the variety of resources available here and elsewhere (just search “ACEs”, “resilience,” or “trauma-informed practice”) on what ACEs are, how trauma can cause lifelong challenges to individuals and communities – and, the best part, on the powerful, lasting, and positive change resilience practices can create.
Learn how to respond: Practice the skills and activities in the resources page to help you understand and work with trauma, whether you’re a parent, educator, counselor, employer, or individual.
Join an action team: Action teams meet regularly to plan projects, get the word out, tell stories, host public events, and more!
Request a presentation: Skilled local educators are ready to meet you where you’re at and present on trauma, ACEs, resilience, and related topics focused on your needs – as a school, a business, a community group, or other. Presentations are free – we ask those who are able to provide freewill donations that go directly to supporting our trainers’ hard work!
