Resilient Winona County has created 3 virtual training series, geared toward building resilience and supporting caregivers with trauma-informed strategies and skills.

The Trauma-Informed Caregiving CONNECTION mini-series is a 4-part mini-series of brief videos introducing skills & tools to build connection. The mini-series is intended for youth-serving leaders and caregivers (and bonus: these skills and tools can apply to building connections with others, no matter what their age).

The series gives you:

  • information about the importance of connection in trauma-informed care,
  • tools & resources that you can implement right away
  • this Learning Guide to help you apply what you’ve learned.

This series was published in May 2025. This project is supported by Community Resilience Initiative Micro Grant funding from More Resilient Minnesota.

Join host Sarah Johnson, MS, LPC of The Joy Labs for our series of brief videos (10-ish minutes each) highlighting foundational skills for caregivers. If you find these skills are not meeting your caregiving needs, please consider reaching out for help. You could reach out to other caregivers, family, friends or neighbors, as well as community resources like teachers, school counselors, medical providers or therapists. For help anytime of the day, dial 9-8-8 to reach a trained, caring professional.

This series was published in September 2024. It was supported through a microgrant from More Resilient Minnesota.
